They determine the quality of the linkup between the pole and the support wires
HOOKS: these should be large (10 mm or more), reinforced and fastened to poles made of construction quality "S" steel. They should not open under pressure from the plants and should offer appropriate resistance to the passage of harvesting machines.
TEST: grab hold of the pole in one hand and apply heavy pressure on the hook with a thumb. If the hook can be depressed easily, it is too small and/or the steel is too soft. NOTCHES: they should allow easy and efficient support of the wires.
To this end, it is preferable to select M-shaped notches rather than H-shaped ones. Z-shaped notches are to be avoided for support wires.
Notches are more suited to terrain that forms dips or swales, except in the event of accessories positioned on hooks on the poles requiring it, thereby allowing wires to be fastened to the underside.
