Poles of profiled steel are made mainly from two types of steel
, those starting with the letters DX (DX51, DX52...) and those starting with the letter S (S235, S250...).
The main characteristic to be taken into account is ELASTIC RESISTANCE.
DX 51 STEEL:
- DX = soft steel for cold profiling.
- Elastic resistance from 15 KgF/mm².
S 250 STEEL:
- S = standardized steels for the construction industry (buildings, bridges, boats... )
- Elastic resistance from 25 KgF/mm² (+40%).
For the same weight and profile shape, a pole made of S250 steel will have a theoretical elastic resistance at least 45% higher than a pole of DX51 steel.
