The most suitable gap is 5 m. If the gaps between poles are wider, the trellising will age faster. When the gap is wider, the poles and wires will be subjected to more stress.

Choosing the steel

Poles of profiled steel are made mainly from two types of steel
, those starting with the letters DX (DX51, DX52...) and those starting with the letter S (S235, S250...).

The main characteristic to be taken into account is ELASTIC RESISTANCE.

DX 51 STEEL:

  • DX = soft steel for cold profiling.
  • Elastic resistance from 15 KgF/mm².

S 250 STEEL:

  • S = standardized steels for the construction industry (buildings, bridges, boats... )
  • Elastic resistance from 25 KgF/mm² (+40%).

For the same weight and profile shape, a pole made of S250 steel will have a theoretical elastic resistance at least 45% higher than a pole of DX51 steel.
